Skill Requirements:
Education: Completion of high school
Credentials (certificates, licences, memberships, courses, etc.): Forklift Operator Certification, Not required
Experience: 1 year to less than 2 years
Languages: Speak English, Read English, Write English
Work Setting: Industrial facility, Manufacturing plant
Business Equipment and Computer Applications: Windows, General office equipment, Electronic mail, Word processing software, Spreadsheet software, Internet browser
Type of Equipment: Pallet lifters, Lift trucks and fork-lifts, Dollies and hand trucks
Weight Handling: Up to 13.5 kg (30 lbs)
Type of Operation: Computerized inventory control
Specific Skills: Determine method of shipment, Schedule distribution of goods, Schedule transportation conveyances, Prepare bills of lading, invoices and other shipping documents, Assemble containers and crates, Inspect and verify incoming goods against invoices or other documents, Maintain internal record-keeping system, Record shortages and reject damaged goods, Route goods to appropriate storage areas, Pack goods to be shipped, Unpack goods received, Affix identifying information and shipping instructions on shipments, Oversee loading and unloading of goods
Security and Safety: Driver’s validity licence check, Driving record check (abstract)
