Skill Requirements:
Education: Not applicable, Not required
Credentials (certificates, licences, memberships, courses, etc.): Driver’s Licence (Class 1 or A), Air Brake (Z) Endorsement
Experience: 2 years to less than 3 years
Languages: Speak English, Read English, Write English
Type of Trucking and Equipment: Tractor-trailer, Tractor-trailer B train, Dry bulk
Type of Travel: Short-haul, Long-haul, Provincial/territorial
Documentation Knowledge: Driver logbook, Bill of lading, Inspection report (pre-trip, en-route, post-trip), Trip reports, Accident or incident reports
Communication Equipment Experience: Trip recorder (on-board computer), Citizens band (CB) radio, Cellular phone
Weight Handling: Up to 9 kg (20 lbs)
Specific Skills: Operate and drive straight or articulated trucks to transport goods and materials, Plan travel schedules and routes, Use atlases and other trip planning aids, Receive and relay information to central dispatcher, Oversee condition of vehicle and inspect tires, lights, brakes, cold storage and other equipment
Additional Skills: Mountain driving expertise, Professionalism in customer service
Security and Safety: Bondable, Basic security clearance, Criminal record check, Driving record check (abstract), Medical exam, Drug test
Own Tools/Equipment: Steel-toed safety boots, Hard hat
Transportation/Travel Information: Own transportation, Valid driver’s licence
Other Languages: Punjabi
